Graduated from City University in 1986 with an Honours Degree in
Electronic Engineering (BSc. Hons).
Background
Employed at Abbey Road Studios
from August 1986 until May 1993 as House Engineer.
Whilst at Abbey Road worked with such artistes as Toyah, Siouxsie
And The Banshees, Kate Bush, Pink Floyd, Blur, Brian Eno, The Stone
Roses, Marc Almond, Bonnie Tyler, Pete Murphy, The Faith Brothers,
Beautiful South, The Hollies, Sting, John Williams and George Benson.
Also worked with all the major orchestras (including LPO, LSO, RPO
etc.) on feature films and classical recordings such as Honey I
Shrunk The Kids, Cry Freedom, Showboat, Porgy and Bess and High
Society.
Freelance
Left Abbey Road Studios in May 1993 to become freelance Engineer
/ Programmer / Producer, forming Starcrest Management for this purpose.
In June 2004 Gareth Cousins Music Productions was formed.
Other information
Registered with the Musician's Union as keyboard player
and guitarist. Songwriter. Studio consultant.
Familiar with all popular mixing desks and standard outboard equipment,
including more exotic items such as Fairlight Series III, Synclavier,
AMS Audiofile, Digidesign Protools hard disk recording systems,
and editing systems including Sony 1630 and of course analog tape
